In Europe, silver is being processed to jewellery since more than 7,000 years. In the workshop "forging silver rings", the participants (between 5 and 15 years) can get an insight of the traditional art of the silver forging handcraft and can learn the most important handling techniques step by step. Under the professional surveillance of our exhibitor PF Galerie Peter Fischer, the participants can create their own unique jewellery with fire, tongs, hammer and iron.
In the volcanic rocks of the Moroccan Western Sahara the geodes (petrified gas bubbles) emerged from different mineralogical processes after the cooling down of the 1000 degree celcius hot lava over a period of a hundred million years. The geodes from Smara have shiny, colourless or white quartz crystals on the inside. The beauty of these "balls" is revealed by cracking them open. Our exhibitor Mineralienfachhandel Jörg Schlyia will show you this wonder of the nature by cautiously cracking the geodes open.
